The Ultimate Game of Strategy
Chapter 13
Creating a community trust

Back to a personal cognitive model

Here is where the conceptual jump needs to take place. The Internet hasn't got a universal set of rules. Everyone has to adopt their own. Each person has to create their own set of rules that applies to their own behaviour and also to the behaviour of their particular community of friends and acquaintances. The conceptual trick is to think not of imposing those rules on your friends and contacts, but, to devise a strategy that chooses only the friends and contacts who seem to be abiding by the same set of rules as yourself.
