Using agents

Visitors to a stigmergic Web site can create an agent to represent themselves. This agent has a memory, where the visitor can place information they want to share with others. The agent is placed onto the Web site for other visitors to interact with and access the information in its memory.

Agents are used to hold and transmit information because these agents can be given functions and can move around the Web.

Creating an agent memory

Agents are created by arranging for an information provider to look though a set of questions and provide answers to any they want their agent to respond to. The agent is created for them as soon as they submit these answers.

Agent owners are able to add to, delete or change any of the answers at any time through an agent control panel.
