Chapter 15
The optimum strategy
Multiple personalities
Web sites should be efficiently packaged so that all the benefits of establishing a communication contact with the site owner can be quickly and easily appreciated. This is easy to do if there is only a single quality or asset, but, if there are multiple assets then the full picture can be confusing. For this reason, it is probably more effective to describe different assets quite independently of each other. Many Web sites guide customers or clients with different needs to different parts of a Web site to prevent them losing interest or exposing them to irrelevant material. This same principle can be used for personal Web sites or by site owners who have more than one area of speciality they wish to offer.
This is particularly important when considering the demand and supply Solution Points that every individual or business must have. The contacts on the supply side will be quite different from the contacts on the demand side. It makes sense then, that each type of contact sees a different aspect, perhaps requiring completely different sites, maybe even on different servers with different domain names. Such dual personalities are not always possible in the world of bricks and mortar, but, in the world of the Internet they are easily arranged - and make a great deal of sense.
